Your data

We look for travel. We don't keep your calendar.

Confirmed stays are saved in this browser. Google Calendar, calendar-file import, and other Pro tools need a Stay180 account on Pro. When you are on Pro, the stays you confirm are also saved to that account in our database, so they follow you to another device. We never upload your Google calendar.

In this browser

Without an account, stays live in this browser. Clear the site or switch computers and they are gone unless you downloaded a backup. Leftover browser storage cannot unlock Pro.

Pro account

A Stay180 account is Google sign-in or email plus a one-time code. Subscribe from that account. Each account holds one traveller. We keep your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account id and the name and profile picture Google shares with us, so we can recognise your account next time. We also keep your plan (free or Pro) and, if you have paid, a link to your Stripe customer id. Other customers cannot read your stays. You can download a copy or delete the account from the Account page; deleting removes the server copy of your stays, your profile, and your sign-in.

Your synced ledger

While you are signed in on Pro, the stays you confirm are saved to your account in our database (Convex). A synced stay holds the entry and exit dates, the country you picked, the label you typed or confirmed (a hotel name, for example), whether it came from a calendar or by hand, and, for calendar imports, the event's id. Edits you make while signed in go straight to your account, and that account copy is what loads when you sign in on another device.

Synced stays remain in your account until you delete them, delete your account, or ask us to erase them. The copy saved in this browser is not updated while you are on Pro, so if Pro lapses the calculator falls back to whatever this browser still holds, which may be older than your account.

Bringing this browser's stays with you

The first time an account goes Pro, Stay180 copies the stays saved in this browser into the account once, so upgrading does not lose them. It only does that into an empty account: if the account already has stays, nothing is merged. Your browser list is never deleted, so the free calculator still has your stays if Pro stops. If you subscribed on another device, the Account page has an Import button for the stays in this browser.

Emails we send

If you sign in by email, we send you a one-time sign-in code. When your account is created, we send one welcome email. On Pro, we also send a reminder 14 days before the last day you could stay if your current trip continues; that email states the leave-by date we calculated from the stays in your account. Email is delivered by Resend. Deleting your account stops the Pro reminders.

Who can see it

Only your account can query your ledger: isolation is enforced in our backend, not in the browser. Our small operator console shows account metadata — your email, plan, and how many stays you have — so we can run support, billing, and the Pro reminders. It does not show the stay list itself. We use the vendors named in the Privacy Policy (Vercel, Convex, Stripe, Google, and Resend) to run the Service, and we never sell your data.

When an operator acts on an account — granting Pro, sending a reminder, deleting an account — we keep a short record of it, because someone has to be answerable for those actions. Deleting your account strips your email address and the note from those records straight away. What is left is which operator acted, what they did, and when; the user id on it no longer points to anyone, because your account is gone. That remainder is deleted automatically 30 days later.

Google Calendar

Google Calendar import is Stay180 Pro. When you connect a calendar, that Google prompt happens in your browser. We don't save the calendar token, and closing the tab ends it. We never upload your calendar. We ask for two read-only permissions: the list of calendars you're subscribed to, and the events on them. We never ask to read Gmail, calendar settings, or sharing permissions, and we never ask for write access.

Signing in to Stay180 with Google is a different flow from connecting Google Calendar. Sign-in creates your account (see “Pro account”); the calendar connection stays in the tab and is never saved.

We show hotels, flights, and #Schengen tags for you to confirm. Everything else is ignored. Only stays you import are saved to your Pro account.

Calendar files

Dropping a calendar file is Stay180 Pro. The file is read in this browser. The file is not uploaded.

Import choices

Loading a calendar or a file lasts for the session: close the tab and the list is gone. The one thing we do keep is what you decide by hand — an ignored event you move into the import list stays there the next time you look, so you do not decide it twice. Disconnecting Google Calendar or clearing this site's data forgets those choices.

Why do you need calendar access?

Google offers no permission limited to flights and hotels. The calendar list is what lets you pick a Travel calendar; the events are what we search for hotels, flights, and #Schengen tags. Pick a Travel calendar, or we'll find travel and ignore the rest. Flights count as a border day, not a stay.

Payments

If you buy Stay180 Pro, you must already be signed in. Your card details are handled by our payment provider, not stored by Stay180. We keep whether the subscription is active and the Stripe customer id that links the payment to your account.

Site analytics

Stay180 uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. They do not use advertising cookies. They record anonymised page views and how fast the site feels, so we can operate and improve the product.

Usage counts

We count visits, calculator uses, and trip planner uses so we know whether the free tools are useful. These counts are anonymous and aggregate: no cookies, no IP address, no device details, no account, and never the stays you type. A marker in this browser only stops the same visit being counted twice, and it never leaves your device. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted. The detailed records are deleted after 30 days; only the daily totals are kept.

What we will not do

  • Ask to read Gmail.
  • Save your Google Calendar or calendar tokens on our servers.
  • Sell your data, or use advertising trackers.
  • Let one customer query another customer's stays.
  • Let leftover local storage or a billing cookie claim a Pro account.
  • Record stay dates, labels, or countries in our usage counts.
  • Guess whether a dentist appointment in Lyon is a Schengen stay. You confirm every stay.
