Inclusive vs exclusive counting

“180 days from September 25, 2026” normally means exclusive counting: the start date is day 0 and the count begins the next day. That gives Wednesday, March 24, 2027.

Inclusive counting makes the start date day 1. It is how you count the days of a stay, a course or a contract that includes its first day, and it lands one day earlier: Tuesday, March 23, 2027.

Schengen days are counted inclusively — the day you enter and the day you leave both count. A Friday-to-Sunday trip uses three days, not two. See why both border days count.

Questions

How do I add days to a date?
Enter the start date and the number of days, and choose Add. The start date is day 0, so 180 days from September 25, 2026 is Wednesday, March 24, 2027.
What is the difference between inclusive and exclusive counting?
Exclusive counting starts the day after the start date, which is how "N days from" usually works. Inclusive counting makes the start date day 1, so the result is one day earlier. Schengen stays are counted inclusively.
Does the calculator handle leap years and daylight saving time?
Yes. It counts whole calendar days, so 29 February is counted when it exists, and a clock change never moves the result a day early or late.
Which time zone is today in?
Your own. The page reads today's date from your device, so the default start date and the results match your local calendar wherever you are.
